DR. ANDREA MEAGHER, O.D.

Dr. Meagher (pronounced MAR) graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a major in Biology and a minor in Dance. She then went on to earn her doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed extensive training on specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses for Keratoconus and orthokeratology lenses for myopia management at the Illinois Eye Institute and Silicon Valley Eye Physicians. Dr. Meagher also completed advanced ocular disease training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She developed a passion for working with pediatric patients at Solo Eye Care, a specialty vision therapy practice.

Dr. Meagher genuinely cares about her patients and strives to make each of their lives better through comprehensive eye care. In 2022, she was awarded the ASCO National Award for Clinical Ethics for her work caring for a patient with Down syndrome. She has a passion for volunteering and has visited rural areas of Africa and Mexico to provide eye care for patients in need.

In her spare time, Dr. Meagher enjoys cooking new recipes, walking her dog, fishing out on the ocean, and snow skiing.

DR. ELIAS TOUBIA, O.D.

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Human Biology from the University of California San Diego with a minor in Economics; Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry. Clinical training at the Kansas City VA medical hospital.

INTERESTS: Sports. The whole lot of them, from Soccer to Darts.

DR. LAILA BROWN-AIJALA, O.D.

Dr. Laila Brown-Aijala acquired her B.S. degree in Human Physiology at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, graduating Magna Cum Laude along with Beta Sigma Kappa honors. She is certified in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and the treatment of glaucoma.

INTERESTS:
In her spare time, Dr. Brown-Aijala, also enjoys camping, hiking, practicing yoga and exercising, shopping at local farmers markets, reading a great book, discovering new coffee shops, and tending to her house plants.

EDUCATION: Dr. King earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, followed by her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. She is certified in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and the treatment of glaucoma.

INTERESTS: Dr. King enjoys traveling, concert going, eating out, and soaking up the San Diego sun with her husband and 3 children.

A.K. earned his B.S. in Biochemistry/Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, followed by his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. He is certified in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, lacrimal irrigation, and the treatment of glaucoma.

A.K. is currently serving as a California Ambassador of VSP Vision.  He has a passion to help preserve independent private practice optometry while increasing vision care access in California.

A.K.’s interests are European auto sports and traveling with his wife and daughter.
